Our UK-based, fully controlled indoor facility empowers us to oversee every detail, from bespoke LED lighting and climate control to pest-free growing and rainwater harvesting. This hands-on approach ensures each plant receives the attention it deserves.
Sustainability isn’t an afterthought; it’s at the heart of how we operate. We run on green-tariff energy today and are developing off-grid capabilities for tomorrow. Closed-loop irrigation and zero-waste protocols mean minimal environmental impact, so patients and the planet both benefit.

Operating under GACP and GDP standards (and aspiring to GMP) our processes are designed to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and full traceability. Rigorous in-house checks and Certificate of Analysis releases help ensure every vial meets the highest quality expectations.

What Sets Waterside Apart
At Waterside, we approach cannabis cultivation with the precision and care expected in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Our fully indoor, vertically integrated facility in Aberdeenshire operates using Total Controlled Environment Agriculture (TCEA), allowing us to optimise light, climate, and nutrients for consistent plant development.

Every phase of our process is governed by a robust Quality Management System. While we are not yet GMP-certified, we operate to GACP and GDP standards and apply the foundations GMP principles throughout delivering batch-to-batch uniformity and full traceability from clone to certificate of analysis.

Rooted in our local community and driven by sustainable practices - including rainwater harvesting, renewable energy, and a closed-loop nutrient recycling -Waterside aims to be part of a resilient UK supply chain that patients and healthcare providers can trust.

Founded by Martin Dickie MBE, best known as co-founder of BrewDog, Waterside was built on a vision of applying rigorous process control and innovation to deliver safe, consistent, and effective cannabis-based medicines.

Martin’s background in scaling quality focused operations has helped shape our commitment to precision, transparency, and patient-first thinking from day one. He is supported by Morag Thomas, Graeme Warren, Lewis Esson, and a wider team of scientists, horticulturists, quality specialists, engineers, and healthcare professionals each contributing essential knowledge and experience.
